She wore her engagement ring for a year without knowing it

Anna, a woman in Australia has been wearing her engagement ring for the past year without even knowing it. 

So, how is that possible?

Well, her boyfriend Terry, decided to surprise her by making her wear the ring without her knowing it. Getting more confusing?

Well, let me explain a bit more.

Terry made a special wooden necklace that secretly held the engagement ring tucked inside.

“I had always loved the idea of giving someone a gift where they didn’t know its true value,” Terry told metro.co.uk.

“I also wanted to start doing wood carving.”

He picked a nice ring for her, made the necklace, tucked the ring inside, and gave it to her girlfriend Anna on a special day; it was the one year anniversary of their relationship.

Anna loved the necklace and wore it every day without taking it off.

Terry said there were occasions where he got really worried.

“At one point, I thought she was going to trade it with a blacksmith at a market (the blacksmith loved the necklace, and she loved the blacksmith’s work) but luckily I didn’t need to crash tackle her.

My biggest moment of panic was when we went through airport security the first time.”

Luckily, the ring somehow stayed inside the wooden necklace unnoticed for a whole year – until the day Terry decided to pop the question.

The couple traveled together to a place that had always been on their bucket list – Smoo Cave in Scotland.

 Before entering the cave, Terry asked Anna if he could take some pictures of the necklace, so he surreptitiously broke the seal with a knife. He then knelt down and broke open the necklace and proposed.

 “She stood there dazed for a second, trying to work out what was going on,’ said Terry, ‘and then it dawned and she said ‘yes,’ Terry says.

“After she calmed down she suddenly stopped moving, stared at me and said ‘Wait… it’s been in there the entire time?!! I could have lost it you f***ing idiot!!’”
